As a make up artist, I have tried almost every product out there to achieve various looks and in my opinion, for the average woman who just wants to look nice on a daily basis, mineral makeup is the fastest, easiest way to go. I have tried several different brands, sheer cover, bare minerals, etc. and have found that there isn't much differnce in the products. They all seem to achieve the same flawless, weightless effect. I even mix and match these together to get the right color and coverage.
As for the benefit to the skin, these are the best as they do not clog the pores and aren't heavy, cakey or masky. For application I have found that using the circular method, applying in little circles with the brushes, seems to give the best and most even natural look. These products also have sunscrren to protect. For those who like a bit more dramatic or evening look, experiment with the various colors that may also be mixed to achieve almost any trendy style. For the sexy, smokey eyed look the darker shades of browns and blacks work nicely as the mica gives the shimmery, sultry appearance. For every day the warmth works fine as just a healthy glow on the eyes and face. I apply the shadows with an angled eye shadow brush. The colors can even be used on the lips under a gloss for a finished look. Just pat on color and gloss.
Lastly, as for expense, these products go a long way for the price which I have found to be less than most department store products that don't give as natural a look. I would suggest that any woman try these as they are perfect for any skin type or problem and seem to improve the skin with use.
