Migraines, how to survive one or live with them daily.

I am writing this guide in the hopes that it will help my friends and fellow okayers to deal with a migraine headache in a healthy manner. After you have read this guide please vote and let me know if you found it helpful.
The first thing you should do when you start to get a migraine is take your migraine medicine before the pain sets in. It is easier to stop it in the earlier stages then it is to stop it once it gets hold of your brain. If you do not have medicine for a migraine from your doctor, make your appointment now. You are dealing with your brain after all and want to make sure it is a migraine. There are just so many things it could be.
I SUGGEST YOU THEN USE THIS CHECKLIST:
1. IF YOU HAVE NOT EATEN IN THE LAST 2-3 HOURS EAT NOW. YOUR BRAIN USES 75% OF THE GLUCOSE PRODUCED BY YOUR LIVER.YOUR LIVER ONLY HOLDS IT FOR 1-3 HOURS SO IF YOUR BRAIN WANTS GLUCOSE AND YOUR LIVER DOESN'T HAVE ANY THE BODIES ALARM SYSTEM GOES OFF AND HENCE YOU WILL GET A HEADACHE. IF YOU WAKE UP FROM A SOUND SLEEP WITH A MIGRAINE THIS IS USUALLY BUT NOT ALWAYS THE PROBLEM. I KEEP GLUCOSE PILLS LIKE DIABETICS USE AND CHEW TWO WHEN THIS HAPPENS.
2. HAVE YOU BEEN EXPOSED TO CHEMICALS? SPECIFICALLY HOUSEHOLD CLEANING CHEMICALS SUCH AS CLOROX OR PINE SOL OR ANYTHING WITH A STRONG ODOR. IF SO , TAKE A SHOWER TO CLEAN OFF, LET WARM WATER RUN ON YOUR HEAD AND THE BACK OF YOUR NECK AND CLEAN YOUR NOSE OUT WITH A LITTLE SPRAY OF SALINE. I USE A 4 IN 1 SOLUTION WHICH CONTAINS EUCALYPTUS AND geES IN A SPRAY FOR SINUS, IT WORKS WELL. YOU ALSO WANT TO GET OUTSIDE AND INTO FRESH AIR UNTIL FUMES SUBSIDE.
3. SLEEP ON A REGULAR SCHEDULE, MIGRAINES WILL REBOUND WITH TOO MUCH SLEEP AS EASILY AS WITH NOT ENOUGH. IF YOU SUFFER FROM INSOMNIA TELL YOUR DOCTOR AND TRY TO GO TO BED AND GET UP AT THE SAME TIME EVEN ON THE WEEKENDS. MANY PEOPLE GET MIGRAINES ON THE WEEKENDS BECAUSE OF THE CHANGE IN SCHEDULE SO DON'T CHANGE IT!
4. YOU CAN EAT ANYTHING YOU WANT WITH MIGRAINES, NOT EVERYONE HAS THE SAME TRIGGERS. KEEP A DIARY OF WHAT YOU ATE IN THE LAST 24 HOURS EVERY TIME YOU GET A HEADACHE AND YOU WILL FIND YOUR. MINE ARE CHEMICALS, PRESERVATIVES, TOMATO SAUCE AND PROCESSED FOODS. YOURS WILL BE DIFFERANT.
CAFFEINE IS USED BY MANY MIGRAINE PATIENTS INCLUDING ME BECAUSE IT DOES HELP THE PAIN GO AWAY AND IS A CARRIER OF THE MEDS TO THE BRAIN QUICKER. USE OF CAFFEINE SHOULD BE CONTROLLED JUST AS ANYTHING ELSE BUT IT WILL HELP. IT IS THE BIGGEST INGREDIANT IN OTC PAIN RELEIVERS.
