children and christmas giving

CHILDREN AND CHRISTMAS

Traditions - Childrens

All parents have the privilage of raising the next generation.
When it gees to Christmas it is my feeling that this is an area in which many parents ; usually due to the demands of daily life seem to slide in regard to Christmas.
The young child ; who can color can make a picture to give to Grandparents , Aunts -Cousins , etc.
If the parent frames the picture for the Grandparents and others close to the child ; puts the others in envelpes ; as a personal card.
The child has ; over a period of years created :
1] A great colection of gifts.
2] A spirit of tradition.
3] A feeling of importance.
4] A measure of learningto give.

This can be done with many other items ; cookies ; a small fruit basket ; gift of the childs choice.
The point is not what the child gives ; rather that he /she learn to feel they too are givers , not only recievers .
Try talking with your children about what they might make , a gift of love.
The older child can do chores to earn money for small gifts.
Parents , do not underestimate your little ones need for established giving.. To give is to particiate ; to participate is to belong.; to belong is a life long goal of humanity.
Make this a special year for the children ; over dinner discuss not only what they recieved , but what they gave.
A Merry Christmas To All...
