Facts Today: Bakelite jewelry has for many years, been very popular as a wearable art form. Nothing is quite as beautiful as Catalin Bakelite Cast resin finished jewelry. It is to die for, as it beauty is unequalled. Cast Bakelite, its history began with my Grandfathers company American Catalin who began producing cast Catalin Resins in 1927, that later were fabricated by others, into really wonderful things. Some of the older Catalin cast, or Marbellete, cast parts still can be found today, but most have cracked with age. There is little REAL VINTAGE PARTS left to be found, but mainly only newly made parts, from a upstate New York producer, have surfaced in the past 15 years on e bay. Years ago, many, American manufacturers made the Catalin parts into jewelry including the Marbelette company who took over producing Bakelite resin products when my Grandfather (Catalin founder) died in the 1960
