I have thought about asking this question for weeks but I was afraid the answer would be so obvious that I would have to hang my head in shame. I have some plastic bead necklaces that look totally run of the mill to me but they have clasps marked either 'sterling' or '925'. The necklaces don't look homemade to me so I'm thinking they were made this way in the factory but why? The necklaces don't look like Mardi Gras beads but they don't look like high quality beads either. Has anyone else come across beads like this? What am I missing? Thanks in advance.
